Welcome to Gibby’s Garden, a friendly place to learn how
to garden like a Mainer. We’re a hardy bunch after all, known for our
strong work ethic, willingness to help a neighbor out, and our way of life.
Through Gibby’s Garden I’m going to share with you my tips
and tricks for organic vegetable gardening in Maine. I’ll leave all the fancy terminology and
pretentiousness to other gardening blogs and focus on what really makes a
garden grow - hard work, determination, and a lot of love.
At Gibby’s Garden you’ll learn how to garden in a way
that’s enjoyable and leaves you walking away with a feeling of accomplishment.
I’ll show you the way I do things, from choosing the best vegetable varieties to grow in Maine, tips for planning, planting, fertilizing, going organic,
preserving your harvest, and everything in between.
You’ll learn what you need to know to grow an organic
vegetable garden in Maine’s short growing season. You may even find your thumbs
turning green. With the right knowledge at your fingertips you’ll be growing a
bounty of your favorite vegetables in no time.
I’ve been gardening since I was a small child. As soon as
I was old enough, I grew my very own vegetable garden with some hits and misses
along the way. I’ve honed my craft, forged my own gardening style, and have
picked up a bushel of gardening how-to’s and tips over the years from
time-savers, gardening must-haves, and how to really enjoy my time spent in the
garden.
Here at Gibby’s Garden you’re free to browse around
